Certificate "Kleiner KuWi"
Certification of Intercultural Competence
Due to its international orientation, the University of Passau offers you an outstanding environment to acquire intercultural competence. As a student of the Bachelor's program "Business Administration and Economics" you have the opportunity to acquire a certificate on "Intercultural Competence", the so-called "Kleiner KuWi". For this you combine:
You choose your foreign language (e.g., Chinese) and then select courses from the Bachelor's degree program "International Cultural and Business Studies" that shed light on the social, political and/or historical background of your chosen cultural area (e.g. the seminar "Die Volksrepublik China zwischen Sozialismus, Tradition und Moderne" ["The People's Republic of China between Socialism, Tradition and Modernity"]). You can choose one of the following cultural areas:
- Anglo-American cultural area
- French-speaking cultural area
- Ibero-Roman cultural area
- East-Central European cultural area
- Southeast Asian cultural area
- German-speaking cultural area
We strongly recommend that you pool your ECTS credits in one cultural area (e.g., Chinese as a foreign business language in combination with courses for the Southeast Asian cultural area). This intercultural component of your studies can, for example, complement the specialization "Management, Innovation, and Marketing". However, the certificate can of course also be obtained in conjunction with all other specializations.
After successful completion of the courses, you will receive a certificate (sample certificate) from the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics. Please, provide us with proof that you have passed the courses.
