Thesis
Dear students,
please note the application deadline for our theses. Please refer to the tab "Application process".
Thank you very much!
Thank you for your interest in writing your thesis at our chair.
Every semester, the department of International Management and Social Entrepreneurship offers mentoring for your Bachelor or Master thesis. We primarily advise students enrolled in the following degree programs: B.Sc. Business Administration and Economics, M.Sc. Business Administration, B.A./M.A. Kulturwirtschaft/ICBS.
Currently, we have specified some research fields for theses. Information on the individual areas can be found on the website of the chair staff (Main Research Interests). In addition, we are open for your own suggestions. Please keep in mind that our research areas should guide you in your topic choice.
We attach great importance the principles of academic work. While composing your thesis, you have to proof your ability to handle a scientific problem using appropriate empirical and/or methodical approaches.
Unfortunately, our capacity for supervising theses is limited. We ask for your understanding that we cannot offer the opportunity to write a thesis at our chair to all students. Please note the application deadline for our theses. We will respond to your application within two weeks.

After we have received your application, we will carefully consider your documents and will reach out to you about whether we can offer you a spot.
If you are accepted for a thesis, we will work with you to get specific on your topic choice. We will arrange an appointment with you to get started. Once we have defined your topic, you will produce an exposé/proposal for your paper. You can register your thesis at the examination office after we have reviewed your proposal.
In order to ensure an optimal mentoring experience and working relationship for you, we offer a compulsory colloquium course for all students writing their thesis with the chair. Please register for the respective course after you have been approved for your thesis. The colloquium will continue for about one month for Bachelor theses or two months for Master theses after registering your thesis at the examination office.
Participation in the colloquium is required for submitting your thesis.
Please submit your thesis in double bound form (soft or hard cover) to the examination office. In addition, we ask you to hand in your thesis including all files (e.g. transcripts). You will receive the deadline in a letter from the examination office.
We would like to inform you that we will check your thesis for possible plagiarism by means of a plagiarism scan. You can find more information in our guidelines, especially how to avoid possible plagiarism.
