Whether in the international comparison of the THE Ranking or in the CHE Ranking in German-speaking countries - the results of the School of Business, Economics and Information Systems in various rankings, ratings and surveys show the high performance and quality in research, teaching and studies.
The School of Business, Economics and Information Systems at the University of Passau has been ranked among the best 201-250 departments worldwide in the "Subject Ranking" by Times Higher Education (THE, 2023). Despite a strong increase in the number of participants compared to the previous year, the faculty was able to move up 150 places in the category "Business and Economics".

The CHE ranking is one of the most important rankings in the German higher education landscape, especially for prospective students and potential employers. Departments and degree programs at the University of Passau regularly achieve places in the top groups in a wide range of assessment categories. The ranking is carried out by the Center for Higher Education Development and published annually by DIE ZEIT and is based, among other things, on a survey of students. Categories such as study situation, supervision situation, IT infrastructure and practical and research orientation are evaluated.
All business administration, economics and information systems degree programs at the University of Passau achieved top ratings from students in the 2023 ranking, both in the Bachelor's and Master's programs.
"The ranking proves," says Dean Prof. Dr. Stefan Bauernschuster, "that outstanding research and excellent teaching go hand in hand here."
The complete ranking is available at www.heystudium.de/ranking (in German).
Surveys of students by the Quality Management Department (graduation survey) and the Bavarian Graduate Survey (BAS, in German)underscore the image of a satisfied student body.
