Prof. Dr. Markus Grottke
Curiculum Vitae and Research Focus
Prof. Dr Markus Grottke was a part-time employee at the Chair of Business Administration with a focus on Accounting and Controlling from 1 January 2015 to 31 December 2017. After completing a banking apprenticeship, he studied Business Administration at the University of Passau. He then worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Auditing and Management Accounting (Prof Dr Thomas Schildbach). He completed his doctorate in 2011 on the topic of ‘The structural management report analysis as a component of an open, extended annual financial statement analysis’.
Prof. Dr Markus Grottke joined AKAD University on 1 September 2018 as Vice-Rector Research and Professor of Digital Business. In this role, he is significantly involved in the development of new degree programmes and the strategic development of degree programmes.
He contributes his many years of experience from his activities at various chairs at the University of Passau with a strong focus on digitalisation in the form of the digitalisation of the tax consultancy sector and in the area of Industry 4.0. He was most recently Professor of Accounting & Controlling with a focus on digitalisation at the SRH University of Applied Sciences in Calw.
His ability for interdisciplinarity, which he developed early on in a double degree programme in business administration as well as literary theory, philosophy and political science, and his experience in software development for the purposes of automated text analysis at the start-up vI verbal Intelligence GmbH also benefit him here.
