Professor Obermaier's scientific Oeuvre includes various monographs and many articles in well-respected national and international journals. His international orientation is also apparent in his regular participation in famous conferences at home and abroad.
Since 2010, Professor Dr. Robert Obermaier is the holder of the Chair of Accounting and Control at the University of Passau, and was its Vice President for Research from 2012 to 2014 and from 2020 to 2023. In this function, he was also responsible for the Graduate and the Transfer Center of the University of Passau.
Professor Dr. Robert Obermaier finished his studies of Business Administration at the University of Regensburg with the degree as a Diplom-Kaufmann (Univ.). For his doctoral thesis („Bewertung, Zins und Risiko - Anmerkungen zu Grundproblemen der entscheidungsorientierten Unternehmensbewertung und der wertorientierten Unternehmensführung“) he awarded his doctorate (Dr. rer. pol.) from the Wirtschaftswissenschaftliche Fakultät of the University of Regensburg with "summa cum laude" in 2003. After having habilitated in 2009 with works about „Supply Chain Management, Controlling und Unternehmenswert“, he received the degree of a Dr. rer. pol. habil. and was nominated as a private lecturer at the University of Regensburg. Since 2010 he is a University Professor and is working at the University of Passau where he is the holder of the Chair of Management Accounting and Control. Here he also worked from 2012 to 2014 as a vice president and in this function he were the speaker of the Graduiertenzentrum as well as of the Transferzentrum.
In regards to research and teaching, Prof. Dr. Robert Obermaier's focus is on management accounting and control, company valuation and value-based management, corporate planning and decision-making as well as production and Industrie 4.0. Because of his expertise, Prof. Dr. Robert Obermaier is often asked as an advisor of science and practice in these areas.
Prof. Dr. Robert Obermaier works as a guest professor at the Corvinus Universität Budapest as well as at the Türkisch-Deutsche Universität (TDU), he speaks regularly on national and international congresses and he is furtheron a requested keynote speaker.
