Theses
For Bachelor- and Master students
In the context of a Bachelor's or Master's thesis, you should demonstrate your ability to work independently on a research question in the field of accounting and auditing within a specified period of time. Within the framework of this scientific work, you should pursue the goal of dealing in depth with one or more research question(s) on a scientifically sound basis and with recourse to scientific methods.
Choice of topics
Regarding the choice of topic, you can make your own suggestions or find a topic together with your supervisor. Please note that due to limited capacity, only a limited number of papers can be supervised.
If you have any questions regarding the choice of topic, please do not hesitate to contact the scientific staff of the chair.
Time schedule
In order to allow you to plan your studies as flexibly as possible, you can start your thesis - once you have been approved for supervision (please note the application deadlines listed below) - during the course of the relevant term.
You will be assigned to a research assistant for supervision and will determine the topic of your thesis in consultation with him or her. Within a familiarization period of usually three (Bachelor's thesis) or four (Master's thesis) weeks, an exposé must be prepared, which includes a rough outline, a two-page written presentation of the planned content and procedure of the thesis, and a bibliography of the relevant literature read up to that point. The exposé forms the basis for the registration of the thesis, from which the official eight-week (Bachelor's thesis) or four-month (Master's thesis) processing period begins.
If you would like to apply to the Chair of Business Administration with a focus on Accounting and Auditing, please note the following:
