Learning Agreement
A Learning Agreement is a document issued before the stay abroad in which it is recorded which Passau credits are recognized for which courses successfully completed abroad.
It is also possible to take courses at another university in Germany (e.g. online courses at the Virtual University of Bavaria). An application for a Learning Agreement must also be submitted in advance. The application process is identical to that for foreign courses. Please use the form Learning Agreement Germany for your application and pay attention to the date on which you start your studies when selecting the form.
Before your stay abroad
1. Requirements for an application for a Learning Agreement
Please check whether the course offered during your stay abroad fulfills the following requirements:
- Comparable content and time commitment to a course offered at the Chair of Accounting & Control, if it is to be credited for a specific course (equivalent module)
- Content related to the teaching and research focus areas of the Chair, if the course is to be included in the AFT focus area (additional module)
2. Fill out the Learning Agreement form
To apply for a Learning Agreement, please submit the following documents to the chair by email to controlling@uni-passau.de.
- Individual Learning Agreement form (see Downloads) in digital version (editable PDF document, no converted scans or photos!)
- Module description (possible languages: German, English), which must include the following information:
- Basic literature of the course
- Description of the contents of the course
- Type and duration of the performance assessment
- Number of semester hours per week of the course
- Length of the lecture period at the host university
When selecting the correct Learning Agreement form, please pay attention to the date on which you begin your studies (i.e. the version of the examination regulations that applies to you) and read the FAQ Individual Learning Agreements carefully.
There are several ways to sign the document digitally and keep it editable:
Option 1:
A saved scan (jpg) of the real signature. This can be inserted as required.
Option 2:
Sign using the drawing tool in the PDF. Please select the annotation tool and activate the “Drawing tool” (shown as a pencil icon). Use your mouse, tablet or touch screen to draw your signature where you want.
3. Issue of the Learning Agreement
Once your documents have been checked, you will be informed promptly whether a Learning Agreement can be issued or whether additional information is required. After a successful review, we will send you back the signed Learning Agreement by email.
After your stay abroad
4. Grade conversion
Please submit the individual learning agreements together with the transcript of records to the Dean's Office at notenumrechnung.wiwi@uni-passau.de.
After your stay abroad, your grade will be converted centrally at the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Informatics. You can submit the Learning Agreement to the Examinations Office after the grade conversion has been confirmed by the Dean's Office.
