Bachelor and Master theses
Dear students,
please note our application deadlines for our final theses. You can find these under the Application procedure tab.
Thank you very much!
We are delighted that you are interested in writing your thesis at our department.
Our chair accompanies 4 theses per year on 4 different dates (16 places in total).
We have currently advertised topics for theses. Find the list here!
We attach great importance to the principles of scientific work. By writing your thesis, you should also demonstrate that you are able to work independently on scientific problems using suitable empirical and methodological approaches.
- Requirements according to your examination regulations (e.g. minimum number of ETCS achieved, e.g. B.A. BAE 80 ETCS or M.Sc. MBA 35 ETCS)
- At least one course attended by the chair
- Participation in a seminar of the MIM specialisation
The supervision capacities of the chair are generally limited. We therefore ask for your understanding that we cannot offer all students the opportunity to write a thesis at our department. Please note our application deadlines. The application deadlines are binding.

Please send us your application with the following documents:
- Application form
- CV
- Current HISQIS extract
Please submit the documents as one coherent PDF file within the application form.
Once we have received your application, we will check your documents carefully and get back to you with an acceptance or rejection.
If you are accepted, we will get in touch with you to specify the topic of your thesis together. We will arrange a personal appointment with you for this purpose. Based on the topic specification, we will prepare an exposé consisting of an abstract and a preliminary outline of the thesis. We will work on both together with you. Once we have checked your exposé, you can register your thesis.
Please submit your thesis in double-bound form (soft or hard cover) to the Examinations Office. In addition, please send your thesis including all files (e.g. transcripts) as a pdf to your supervisor. You will receive the submission deadline in a letter from the Examinations Office.
